Funding Opportunities

Dear Member Clubs

We will continue to keep you up to date with current funding opportunities, either from Welsh Boxing, Sport Wales or externally. Please find below the latest opportunities and I would like to make you aware of the following:

  • Clubs can apply to the Be Active Wales Fund for a second time, your point of contact is Owen Davies

  • Sport Wales has launched a new fund to support private providers, which will support fitness centres and gyms. This is not aimed at our affiliated clubs, but you may have an arm of the premises that can be supported, your point of contact is Sport Wales

Current Funding Opportunities:

Be Active Wales Fund – Sport Wales is now keeping this open indefinitely and have condensed it to two strands – protect and progress.

It is also now possible to receive ‘protect’ funding for a second time, provided that more than 3 months has elapsed.

Private Providers Fund – Sport Wales has launched a new fund for private providers in Wales. Open until 19/02/2020, if you can demonstrate a net loss of at least £5,000 due to the pandemic since April 2020 you could be eligible.

The National Lottery Community Fund Wales - https://www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk/funding/wales

  • Awards for all – up to £10,000 for grassroots and local activity which works to strengthen communities. No closing date.

  • People and places – up to £500,000 available for projects where people & communities are working together and using their strengths to make positive impacts on the things that matter to them the most. They are prioritising projects which are responding to the adverse effects of Covid-19, but this is not an essential criteria. No closing date.

Postcode Community Trust –

Monthly funding rounds for up to £20,000 for a range of projects including enabling participation in physical activity and improving mental wellbeing. The next funding round opens on March 1st with a focus on Wales.

Lush Wholeness Fund

Up to £10,000 available for local charities and groups working in the areas of mental health and wellbeing.
