Mr. John Waith instructed the AIBA 1-star R&J Course at the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament

A new AIBA 1-star Referee & Judge Course was held during the 39th Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament in Subotica, Serbia to increase the experiences of the national level R&Js and reach another upgraded level in our sport.

Mr. John Waith of Wales was the Instructor of the AIBA 1-star Referee & Judge Course who led the theoretical and pragmatic parts of the educational program. The Welsh official is one of the experienced Instructors who worked in several big championships and tournaments as ITO, R&J Evaluator and Instructor. The pragmatic part of the Course was the 39th Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament itself where 106 bouts were held under five competition days.

Twenty-three participants attended in the AIBA 1-star Referee & Judge Course from Serbia, North Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Among the 23 attendees six of them were women applicants for the AIBA 1-star Referee & Judge position.

Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, host Serbia and Ukraine sent their female and male talents to the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament.

The city of the Subotica was the host of the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament as all of the previous editions. The Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament was a preparation event before the EUBC Youth European Boxing Championships which will be held in Budva, Montenegro in October 12-22.

The next AIBA Referee & Judge Course will be held during the Ukrainian Elite National Boxing Championships in the upcoming days.
