Terry Smith

Welsh Boxing is saddened to hear of the passing of Terry Smith. Terry gave many years of his time and commitment to Welsh Boxing, including filling the roles of the Chairmanship and Presidency.

Terry also held positions of responsibility in Europe, firstly with the EABA and then in the EUBC, offering contributions to the development of boxing in Europe. He will also be remembered within AIBA, our international body, for his dedication to the improvement and development of boxing including his periods as AIBA Compliance Unit Chair, AIBA Executive Committee Member, AIBA Technical Delegate, AIBA 3- star R&J, AIBA R&J Instructor and Honorary Chairman of the AIBA R&J Commission.

The funeral will be Tuesday 12 Jan at 11am at Barry Crematorium.

“It is I am afraid a sign of the times that we have to give this information out for our Dads funeral in this way. It is limited numbers so I am afraid if you have not received an invitation yet there are no places left. It has been a difficult choice and one that makes us very sad. We will be having a celebration of Dads life when allowed and everyone will be invited.

There is however a live web viewing for all those who would have attended. Details below. This will be live to log in 5 minutes before the service at 10.55am. It will then go down but come live again 2 days later for a while. Dad would want you all to stay home, stay safe. x”

Barry Island at 10.30am. The cars will travel down past

Finnigan's Inn, along Island Road, Ship Hill, Park

Crematorium.
