NEW BOXING COMMISSION AND SUB-COMMITTEES
The closing date for those interested in putting their name forward for the new sub-committees is very soon, Friday 13 December, so please let the Office know.
As a reminder, the new structure involves five sub-committees to focus on important areas within domestic boxing and these sub-committees are:

Tournaments & Competition Committee
-
Volunteer Development Committee (to develop the skills of all volunteers but mainly R&J’s)
-
Rules Committee (to review the Domestic Rules, Tournament Rules, Club Show Rules etc)
-
Inequalities Committee (with priority areas such as women & girls, black minority ethnic, disability, deprived areas etc)
-
Boxers Commission (to listen to concerns of all WABA boxers)
PURPOSES OF THE TOURNAMENTS & COMPETITION COMMITTEE (TCC)
The main purposes of the TCC are to:-

Organise, promote and stage all WABA Championships;
-
Submit Tournament Rules to the Rules Committee
-
Work with all other sub-committees to ensure Championships are successful;
-
Support competition opportunities from club to divisional level;
-
Communicate with key staff and volunteers
PURPOSES OF THE VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE (VDC)
The main purposes of the VDC are to:-

Help develop the skills of all volunteers but especially R&J’s;
-
Work with the R&J Association to train Technical Delegates;
-
Support the Coaching team in training coaches and leaders;
-
Support all club officials in developing their skills;
-
Identify and help organise the training for Child Protection Officers;
-
Communicate with key staff and volunteers
PURPOSES OF THE RULES COMMITTEE (RC)
The main purposes of the RC are to:-
-
Review WABA’s Domestic Rules, ready for submission to Board;
-
Review WABA’s Tournament Rules, ready for submission to Board;
-
Review WABA’s Divisional Rules, ready for submission to Board;
-
Review WABA’s Club Show Rules, ready for submission to Board;
-
Ensure all clubs adhere to the AIBA and WABA regulations;
-
Assist clubs with Club Shows;
-
Work with all other sub-committees;
-
Communicate with key staff and volunteers
PURPOSES OF THE INEQUALITIES COMMITTEE (IC)
The main purposes of the IC are to:-

Develop plans to tackle all inequalities within Welsh Boxing in line with suggested areas identified by Sport Wales and Welsh Assembly Government;
-
Priority areas will include some, if not all of the following: Children & Young People, Women & Girls, Black Minority Ethnic, Disability and Long Term Illness; Areas of Deprivation; Older People;
-
Collaborate with partners to develop learning in these areas and identify actions;
-
Communicate with key staff and volunteers
PURPOSES OF THE BOXERS COMMISSION (BoxC)
The main purposes of the BoxC are to:-

Listen to the concerns of all WABA boxers, utilising all current social medai forums;
-
Provide support when needed;
-
Identify and involve role models in Welsh Boxing
-
Communicate with key staff and volunteers
The Chair of each of these sub-committees will then sit on a Boxing Commission to oversee these areas of work and be accountable to the Board.
