Welsh Boxing is pleased to confirm the coaching team selected to lead Wales at the 2026 Four Nations Championships, taking place in Motherwell, Scotland, from Thursday 11th June to Sunday 14th June 2026.

The coaching group will consist of:

  • Brian Ahmed
  • Carl Stephens
  • Josh Brain
  • Mathew Robinson
  • Mike Smyth
  • Wayne Gurd
  • Wez Jones
  • Zhivago Greaux

This experienced and diverse coaching team will guide Welsh boxers across all age groups as they prepare to compete on one of the biggest stages in the amateur boxing calendar.

Major International Event in Motherwell

This year’s championships will be hosted by Boxing Scotland at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility. The 2026 edition is set to be one of the largest in the competition’s history, with more than 300 boxers expected to take part across Schools, Junior, Youth, and Elite divisions.

The tournament continues to grow in scale and reputation, offering a vital platform for emerging and elite athletes to test themselves against the best talent from across the home nations.

Expansion to Four Nations Format

A key development for 2026 sees the introduction of Boxing Ireland to the traditional Three Nations structure, joining Wales, England, and Scotland to create a newly expanded Four Nations Championships.

This addition is expected to significantly raise the competitive standard and provide invaluable international experience for Welsh athletes at every stage of their development pathway.
