Welsh Boxing is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Munn to its Board as Legal Director.

Adam joins the organisation with extensive experience in commercial law, governance and the sports sector, bringing a strong legal and strategic perspective to the Board as Welsh Boxing continues to deliver against its long-term ambitions for the sport across Wales.

Currently a Senior Associate at HCR Law, Adam specialises in commercial law and advises a wide range of organisations on governance, commercial agreements and the legal considerations that arise as organisations grow and evolve. His work within the sports sector has seen him support clubs, national governing bodies and other stakeholders on partnership structures, governance frameworks and risk management.

Speaking about his appointment, Adam said:

“It felt like a really strong fit both professionally and personally.”

“I’ve developed an interest in the governance side of sport through my work, and this was a great opportunity to contribute to an organisation that has a genuine impact across Wales — from grassroots clubs right through to elite athletes.”

Adam also highlighted his personal connection to boxing and the influence the sport can have on individuals and communities.

“Boxing is also personal to me. Through family involvement in the sport, I’ve seen first-hand the role it can play in building confidence, discipline and opportunity.”

“Being able to bring that together with my professional experience made it a really compelling opportunity.”

Discussing the experience he brings to the role, Adam emphasised the importance of practical and effective governance.

“A big part of my role is advising organisations in the sport sector — including clubs, national governing bodies and other stakeholders — on how to structure and manage their relationships, partnerships and wider legal risks.”

“What that really comes down to is helping people make clear, practical decisions without overcomplicating things.”

“I’d like to think I bring a balanced, common-sense approach — making sure things are legally robust, but also working in a way that supports what the organisation is trying to achieve.”

As he begins his role on the Board, Adam expressed his enthusiasm for the future direction of Welsh Boxing and the opportunities ahead.

“It’s a really exciting time for Welsh Boxing, particularly with the launch of the new strategy and the clear focus around both community and performance.”

“What stands out to me is the ambition to grow the sport in an inclusive and accessible way, while also strengthening the pathway for athletes to succeed at the highest level.”

Looking ahead, Adam outlined his commitment to supporting the organisation and its members.

“For me, the priority is supporting the Board to make sure that vision is delivered in a way that genuinely benefits the whole sport — from local clubs right through to those competing on the international stage.”

“I’m looking forward to listening, learning and playing my part in helping Welsh Boxing continue to progress and create opportunities for everyone involved.”

Adam’s appointment further strengthens the expertise and diversity of the Welsh Boxing Board as the organisation continues to focus on strong governance, sustainable growth and delivering opportunities for members at every level of the sport.
