🥊 Thank you, Dan Pitt.
Welsh Boxing can confirm that Dan Pitt has left the Welsh Boxing programme.
Dan leaves with an incredible list of achievements from his time in the Welsh vest. He made history at the Youth World Championships in Colorado in 2024, becoming only the second Welsh boxer to win a world title at Youth level.
Dan was also part of Team Wales at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, where he came agonisingly close to a medal, narrowly missing out on a bronze.
Away from competition, Dan has also made an important contribution to the wider sport. He is a member of the World Boxing Athletes Commission and sits on the World Boxing Ethics Committee, giving athletes a voice and helping contribute to the future of the sport.
Welsh Boxing Head of Performance, Adam Park said:
“Dan has been a great member of the team and a fantastic person to have in the squad. The way he combined his studies with boxing at the highest level makes him a real role model for young athletes.
“Becoming only the second world champion from Wales at the Youth Worlds in Colorado in 2019 was a special achievement. He was desperately unlucky not to come away with a bronze medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, and we’re all proud of the way he represented Wales.
“We’ll miss having Dan around the programme, but he leaves with our full support. I wish him all the best as he returns to full-time education for his final year of studies.”
Dan leaves Welsh Boxing having made a significant contribution to the programme, and we thank him for everything he has given to Welsh Boxing and Team Wales.
Da Iawn Dan. 🥊
