We are pleased to confirm that Adam Park our Head of Performance, has been appointed Team Manager for Team Wales’ boxing squad at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Adam steps into the role bringing with him a decade of experience across the Performance Pathway and Elite programme. Since taking on the position of Head of Performance in April 2023, he has played a central role in shaping the organisation’s high-performance strategy, creating an environment designed to maximise success on the international stage.
Prior to his current role, he served as Head of Pathways from 2021 to 2023, where he oversaw the development and progression of boxers into elite competition. Earlier still, as Performance Pathway Officer between 2016 and 2021, he helped lay the foundations for future success.
His experience also includes hands-on leadership at major events, most notably serving as Team Manager at the U-23 European Championships in November 2025. Also Adam was part of the planning and preparation team for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, contributing to the performance strategy and Games-time readiness.
Reflecting on his appointment, Adam said:
“It's a huge honour to be appointed Team Manager for Boxing at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Since becoming Head of Performance with Welsh Boxing in 2023, my focus has been on creating an environment where athletes can consistently perform at their best on the biggest stages. The Commonwealth Games represents a special opportunity for our Welsh boxers to showcase their talent. We go to Glasgow with the clear ambition of building on our record haul of six medals from Birmingham 2022 and I’m excited to see what the team we’ve built can do on the world stage.”
Welsh Boxing congratulates Adam Park on his appointment and looks forward to seeing the results of the team’s hard work at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.
