Morgan Smith

Welsh Boxing is deeply saddened to hear of the tragic accident in Coedely that has taken the life of 18-year-old Welsh Youth Champion Morgan Smith and his friends Callum Griffiths, 19, and Jesse Owen, 18.

Morgan was an impressive talent who represented Wales at the GB 3 Nations tournament, where he won a bronze medal.

Our thoughts are with all the families and friends of Morgan, Callum and Jesse, everyone involved at Morgan’s boxing club Maerdy ABC and with the members of the boxing community who knew him.

Our thoughts also go out to the other two young men traveling with Morgan who are in critical condition in hospital.

We join everybody in our community in hoping for their recovery.
