Chris Type, Performance Director at Welsh Boxing leaves the organisation at the end of November.

During his seven years’ with Welsh Boxing he has made a significant contribution across the whole of the organisation.

His tenure included two Commonwealth Games’ (CWG) cycles with the Welsh boxers growing from strength to strength. After a successful CWG in Gold Coast, Australia, the Welsh boxers joined Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics with Lauren Price MBE achieving a gold medal.

In 2022, the Welsh Boxing team travelled to the CWG in Birmingham and brought home the largest medal haul since 1958, a total of 6 medals.

Welsh Boxing wish to express our thanks for all that Chris achieved with the performance team and hope he has a successful future in his chosen career.
