Taylor Bevan has joined up again with Welsh Boxing

Commonwealth Games silver medallist Taylor Bevan has officially joined up with the Welsh Boxing performance programme. Having previously represented Wales for seven years at international level, Taylor’s return will bring a wealth of experience back to Welsh Boxing. Taylor left the GB Boxing Podium Squad in August 2024 after two and a half years on the programme.

Taylor will be training under the guidance of Welsh Boxing coaches Colin Jones and Sean McGoldrick. His primary responsibilities will include his career as a professional boxer, being a brand ambassador for Welsh Boxing and role model for the wider Welsh Boxing community.

Welsh Boxing CEO Colin Metson expressed his enthusiasm for Taylor’s return, stating, “Taylor’s presence is a tremendous asset to our team. His professionalism will undoubtedly inspire our young athletes and contribute positively to the culture of excellence we strive for in Welsh boxing.”

Head of Performance Adam Park echoed these sentiments, saying, “Having Taylor back with us is a significant boost. His experience on the international stage and his commitment to the sport will help in developing our high-performance environment. Taylor has delivered on the biggest of stages and will be a fantastic role model for the next generation. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Dan Farmer and Brian Davies at Sport Wales for backing our vision and allowing this to happen.”

Taylor’s performances at the 2022 Commonwealth Games received global acclaim and were crucial in Welsh Boxing delivering a record medal haul. Everyone at Welsh Boxing is excited to have Taylor back working in the elite environment and supporting him on his journey into the world of professional boxing.
