Welsh Boxing Board Strengthens Safeguarding and Looks Ahead to an Exciting Future

This week the Board at Welsh Boxing came together for an important and productive day focused on strengthening our organisation and the sport we serve.

We were delighted to complete Board Safeguarding Training delivered by Rhys Beaven and Jodi Evans Training and Development Consultants at the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit and Ann Craft Trust. The session explored what safeguarding truly means within a sporting environment, highlighting the vital role leadership plays in creating safe, inclusive and supportive spaces for everyone involved in boxing.

The discussion throughout the session was thoughtful and engaging, with Board members sharing reflections and ideas on how we continue to strengthen safeguarding at a strategic level.

Alongside this, the Board also held a very positive meeting focused on the future of Welsh Boxing. Discussions included our long-term strategy, our evolving brand and preparations for an exciting launch event on April 17, where we look forward to sharing more about the next chapter for the organisation. It was also a great opportunity for National Head Coach, Colin Jones, and 2024 Olympian Rosie Eccles to speak to the board around preparation for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

There is real momentum and optimism around Welsh Boxing as we continue working to support clubs, coaches, volunteers and boxers across Wales.
