Welsh Boxing MC Dean Caldwell Awarded MBE in King’s New Year Honours 2026

Welsh boxing stalwart Dean Caldwell MBE, one of the sport’s most recognisable voices, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in The King’s New Year Honours List 2026 for his outstanding voluntary and charitable service to the South Wales community.

Known to boxing fans across Wales as a respected Welsh Boxing MC, Dean Caldwell has dedicated decades of his life to supporting others, often alongside his demanding full-time career with the Welsh Ambulance Service. Based in Barry, Wales, his commitment to public service has extended far beyond the ring.

Dean’s honour recognises his extensive voluntary work with organisations including the RNLI, HM Coastguard, and local radio, where he has played a vital role in community safety, awareness, and support. His tireless efforts have frequently seen him balancing frontline emergency service duties with voluntary roles that directly benefit the people of Wales.
