Owain Harris-Allan has officially made the move into the professional ranks.
Owain leaves the Welsh Boxing Performance Programme having made a significant mark on the international stage.
Owain has enjoyed an impressive international career, highlighted by Commonwealth Games Bronze Medals at Birmingham 2022 and Glasgow 2026. Owain won numerous international tournaments and was a member of the GB Boxing Podium Squad.
From representing Wales and Great Britain on major international stages to consistently competing at the highest level, Owain has represented his country with pride.
Welsh Boxing Head of Performance, Adam Park said:
“I first met Owain when he was 12, so seeing what he’s gone on to achieve has meant a lot to me. Since winning his first Commonwealth Games medal in 2022, Owain has gone on to win multiple international tournaments, join the GB Boxing Podium Squad and compete at Olympic qualifiers. Seeing him come home and win another Commonwealth Games medal was a really special moment. “
“It hasn’t always been an easy journey. Owain missed out selection for the Development Programme more than once, and he dealt with some difficult things in his personal life while he was still young. But he kept showing up and putting the work in. He’s earned everything that’s come his way, and I hope all our young boxers see that.”
“We’re all proud of his medals but having known him since he was a kid, I’m just as proud of the person he’s become.”
Everyone at Welsh Boxing would like to congratulate Owain on an outstanding international career and wish him every success as he begins his professional journey.
