Today, Welsh Boxing enjoyed a very positive and constructive meeting with Heledd Fychan MS, Minister for Culture and Sport, to discuss the significant impact boxing has on communities across Wales and our ambitions for the future.
The Minister showed a genuine interest in our work, particularly our plans to increase participation, strengthen grassroots clubs and create more opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to benefit from boxing.
We also discussed our commitment to developing talent and continuing to produce champions on the national and international stage.
Representing Welsh Boxing were Chair Jason Harborow, CEO Colin Metson, Head of Community Boxing Gareth Evans, Wassem Said, Founder and CEO of Tiger Bay ABC, and champion boxer Rosie Eccles.
It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the power of boxing, from the incredible work taking place in our communities to the achievements of our elite athletes.
We thank the Minister for her time, genuine interest and positive engagement with our vision for Welsh Boxing.
Our ambition is clear: More people boxing. Stronger communities. More Welsh champions. 🥊🏴
