Member Update 20

Dear Member Clubs,

Throughout the pandemic we have supported many clubs and here is a flavour of that support.

Emergency Relief Fund: 23 clubs were successful with £27,811 awarded to cover rent, utility bills and equipment.

Be Active Wales 2020: 25 clubs were successful with £29,518 awarded to cover equipment, signage and PPE to ensure the gym was safe and set up following the return to boxing protocols. This fund was utilised by clubs to prepare the gym to re-open and purchase new equipment and to protect for the upcoming months with rent and utility costs.

Be Active Wales 2021: 9 clubs so far have been successful with £24,467 awarded to protect clubs and to help progress towards long-term sustainability. Many clubs have been awarded money for adaptions to facilities as well as new equipment for the gym. This fund is still open.

Club Show Reimbursement Fund: We have now held two Panels and injected over £27,000 into 26 of our affiliated clubs as part of this new Fund. This fund was to support those clubs that have been unable to run such shows since March 2020 and throughout the winter to 31 March 2021.

Sported Club Resilience Programme: We have also been working closely with Sported to support the long-term development of our clubs through a FREE resilience programme. This programme was developed with you as a club in mind and this opportunity has been taking up by 20 clubs who have completed a ‘Game Plan’ to identify strengths and weakness of the club set up. The next ‘knowledge’ stage will allow these clubs the opportunity to attend online webinars with Sported volunteers to address the key topics from the completed game plans. Following this the clubs will work with a Sported volunteer to develop certain aspects of the club and will have a mentor to support.

Regards,
