Sean McGoldrick Joins Welsh Boxing Coaching Team

Welsh Boxing is delighted to announce the appointment of Sean McGoldrick to its coaching team. McGoldrick, a highly accomplished boxer and two-time Commonwealth Games medallist, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

 

A former member of the GB Boxing Podium Squad, Sean McGoldrick has an impressive track record as both an amateur and professional boxer. He first captured the public's attention when he won gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and followed up with a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. As a professional, McGoldrick held both the British and Commonwealth titles.

 

"Joining the Welsh Boxing coaching team is an incredible honour," said McGoldrick. "Wales has a proud boxing tradition, and I'm excited to contribute to developing the next generation of champions. I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences and helping our talented boxers achieve their goals."

 

Sean's appointment reflects Welsh Boxing's strategic commitment to building a world-class coaching team that can nurture and develop talent to the elite level of the sport. His first-hand knowledge and experience of the requirements to excel at the highest levels of the sport will be invaluable to aspiring Welsh boxers.

Sean will begin his role as National Programme Coach immediately, focusing on preparing Welsh boxers for upcoming competitions and ensuring they have the support and guidance needed to succeed on the international stage.
